Uco Valley · Mendoza
High-altitude wines, handmade since 1921.
We do not make much wine. We make the wine the mountain allows: a few rows, a hand harvest and the patience to let every vintage speak for itself.
— Inés Valdés · Winemaker, fourth generation
Origin
In 1921, Aurelio Valdés planted his first vines at the foot of the Tupungato, where almost nobody believed wine was possible. A century later, the same soil of stone and limestone still shapes every bottle.

Aurelio Valdés arrives in the Uco Valley and plants Malbec and Sémillon at 4,600 feet.
The Sémillon block that still gives our most sought-after white is planted.
We dig an underground cellar: a constant 14 °C, no machines, only stone.
Inés Valdés makes fewer than ten thousand bottles a year, each numbered by hand.
The collection
Each label comes from a single plot and is bottled only in the years that deserve it.

The craft

At dawn, by hand, in twelve-kilo crates. No bunch travels more than an hour to the winery.

Berry by berry, on a steel sorting table. Anything less than perfect stays out.

Eighteen to twenty-four months in French oak barrels, in the cellar at 14 °C.

Each bottle waits one more year in silence before leaving the winery.

High-altitude nights
At 4,600 feet and far from any city, Valdeluz nights are so clear the Milky Way casts a shadow. On Fridays and Saturdays, tastings end outdoors, looking up.
Experiences
Small groups, advance booking and a pace no one rushes. Prices per person.

A walk through the vineyard and the underground cellar, with a guided tasting of all four wines.

A five-course lunch among the rows, paired with cellar-worthy wines.

A candlelit tasting followed by stargazing through a telescope.
